Debby Noar RN IBCLC

Hi, I’m Debby Noar, a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over 20 years of hands-on experience supporting families through one of the most important (and sometimes overwhelming) stages of life: feeding your baby.

I created Maternally Yours to offer care that is not only evidence-based, but deeply personal. I believe every family deserves support that feels calm, clear, and grounded in compassion. Whether you’re recovering from a difficult birth, navigating conflicting advice, or simply want to feel more confident, I’m here to walk beside you.

Clinical Expertise with a Human Touch

As both a nurse and an IBCLC, I bring medical training and a wide lens to every session. But more than that, I bring presence. I show up with kindness, patience, and practical solutions that work in real life, not just in textbooks.

Families often call me a lifesaver, not just because I help with latching or milk supply, but because I help them feel seen and steady again.

“After just one session we started to see improvements, and after two sessions my daughter was exclusively breastfeeding.” - Google Review

“Her expertise and hands-on help turned two-hour tear-filled feeds into comfortable, loving moments.” - Google Review

Your Culture. Your Values. Your Story.

I approach every family with cultural humility.  A commitment to listening, learning, and honouring your lived experience. I understand that feeding isn’t just biological,  it’s shaped by tradition, community, and deeply held beliefs.

Whether your family avoids colostrum, feeds on a schedule, or draws strength from elders’ advice, I’ll work with you, not over you to find solutions that align with your values.

“Your experience is valid. Debby listened without judgment and truly understood where I was coming from.”  - Google Review

Why I Do This Work

I know what it’s like to feel unsure, exhausted, and overwhelmed by well-meaning advice that doesn’t feel right. My role is to quiet that noise and help you tune into your own instincts with professional guidance to support you.

“Debby followed up for weeks after our visit to ensure we were doing well. She helped me go from distress to confidence.” - Google Reviews

Testimonials

My daughter is 15 months old and has been exclusively breastfeeding since she was 2 weeks old.  Debby was an invaluable, constant source of support for me in the first year of M's life.  Her advice was kind, positive and practical.  The best thing she did was to keep reminding me that "she is going to be a breastfed baby." Exhausted, emotional and dealing with my own health problems, I needed that mantra to keep me going.  Debby didn't give up on us and now I have a beautiful nursing relationship with my daughter.  It takes a village to raise a child; I'm thankful that Debby is a part of M's village.

With the birth of our first child, I quickly learned the emotional and physical benefits of breastfeeding and opted to enlist support so that I can effectively and comfortably feed our newborn. A family member referred me to Debby and I continue to speak highly of the positive experience to expecting mothers.

Days after I was discharged form the hospital, Debby was able to come to our home and provide one to one support during several feeding times. As a specialist in the field, she was able to answer many questions in terms of strategies to consider while nursing a child. Debby quickly developed a positive and professional rapport making my breastfeeding journey a successful experience. With high regard I continue to refer my friends and family to Debby knowing she is a well trained healthcare professional who is able to address lactation areas of growth and successes. Thank you Debby for your support, wishing you continued success in your endeavours.

I am so grateful to have had Debby’s help! When our son was born we were told conflicting advice from nurses and the breastfeeding clinic. We were told he had a posterior tongue tie by one and that I needed a nipple shield to nurse him by another. I contacted Debby for help and she was fantastic, she showed us we didn’t need a nipple shield for a good latch and that he didn’t have a tongue tie! He has been latching since then and I couldn’t have done this without her. Debby is warm, genuine and passionate about her work - we will be infinitely grateful that she helped us work on breastfeeding and building a beautiful bond between my son and me.

Debby is a pure, natural and highly experienced professional who actively listens to you and has exceptional compassion and empathy. When our first boy was born in California I struggled to get him to feed in a way that was comfortable for me. In just one session (over Skype!) she was able to help him latch on. As a first time mom, I found her support invaluable.
